The colleague of the Chamber of Accounts attended the seminar on “The role of Supreme Audit Institutions in poverty alleviation” organized by Shanghai Cooperation Organization in People’s Republic of China.
Chief of section of Review and Analysis Department Sanay Pashayev attended the seminar on “The role of Supreme Audit Institutions in poverty alleviation” organized by Shanghai Cooperation Organization and held in Beijing, People’s Republic of China, on October 28-November 01, 2019. 18 participants from 8 countries attended the seminar.
The seminar was organized in National Audit Office of China. The participants made presentations on the subject of the seminar and discussions were held. The main focus in the seminar was on the role of SAIs in poverty alleviation, as well as SAIs’ mandate in this field, importance of audits conducted by SAIs in poverty alleviation especially importance of performance and compliance audits in determining the effectiveness of state programs and projects and main challenges in their implementation, increasing the contributions by SAIs in poverty alleviation through efficient usage of audit evidences.
Additionally, during the seminar discussions on methodological differences and challenges in determining the poverty, achievements and experiences of various countries in alleviation of poverty also SAIs activity in successful implementation of Sustainable Development Goals were held.
