The Chamber of Accounts of the Republic of Azerbaijan was re-elected to the ECOSAI Governing Board

The delegation of the Chamber of Accounts headed by Mr. V. Gulmammadov, the Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts attended the 8th ECOSAI General Assembly, the 24th ECOSAI Governing Board Meeting, the 19th ECOSAI Training Committee Meeting and the 8th ECOSAI Symposium on “Efficient Auditing and Effectiveness of Auditing Results” held on 21-22 October, 2019 in Istanbul, Turkey. 

 

Mr. Seyit Ahmet Bash, the President of Turkish Court of Accounts and ECOSAI opening the Governing Board Meeting greeted the guests and spoke on history and importance of SAIs activities. According to approved agenda SAI Pakistan presented 3 year activity report of ECOSAI Secretary General and information on ECOSAI accounts for December 31, 2018.

 

Later on, information on reports presented by the participants of 19th ECOSAI Training Committee Meeting, on publication of the ECOSAI Circular by the SAI Pakistan, report on presentation of ECOSAI as “Observer” in ASOSAI was given, discussions on introduction of SAIs as “Observer” members in ECOSAI and Memorandum of Understandings signed between ECOSAI member SAIs were held, and ECOSAI Training Plan for 2019-2022 was approved. In conclusion, ECOSAI Governing Board decided to submit mentioned reports to the 8th ECOSAI Assembly for discussion and adoption.

 

Mr. Seyit Ahmet Bash, the President of Turkish Court of Accounts and ECOSAI made opening speech in the 8th ECOSAI General Assembly and Symposium and greeted meeting attendants and emphasized the participation of Qatar, Kuwait and Belarus SAIs in the event. According to the adopted agenda of the meeting ECOSAI Secretary General presented annual financial and activity reports. Additionally, reports by ECOSAI Training and Audit Committees were presented and adopted. One of the main results of the 8th Assembly was making amendments to ECOSAI Charter due to adoption of new members as “Observers”. Adoption of ECOSAI as “Observer” in ASOSAI was also announced during the meeting.

 

During the Assembly the Chamber of Accounts of the Republic of Azerbaijan was re-elected to ECOSAI Governing Board. Next ECOSAI Assembly, organized by SAI Kazakhstan elected as ECOSAI Presidency for 2019-2020 is to be held in Nur Sultan.

 

During the Symposium, representatives of Pakistan, Turkey, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kuwait SAIs, Ataturk University and academicians made presentations and held mutual discussions.
