Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts, Mr. Vugar Gulmammadov, attended the meeting on preliminary results on international parallel performance audit in Ukraine

Meeting on conducting parallel performance audits within GIZ Project on “Strengthening the Capacity of the Supreme Audit Institutions in Eastern Partnership Countries to Monitor the Achievement of the UN 2030 Agenda” and strengthening bilateral cooperation in this field was held on October 10, 2019, in Kyiv, Ukraine. The delegation headed by Vugar Gulmammadov, the Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts of the Republic of Azerbaijan, attended the meeting.

 

Valerii Patskan, Chairman of the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine, Vugar Gulmammadov, Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Erekle Mekvabishvili, Auditor General of State Audit Office of Georgia, Aleksandr M Kurlypo, Deputy Chairman of the State Control Committee of the Republic of Belarus, as well as Inga Sinjikashvili and Thomas Meyer, GIZ Project Managers made speeches in the opening ceremony of the meeting.

 

Conducting parallel audit on prevention and treatment of tuberculosis was one of the main topics and Mr. Irakli Tisitsilashvili, GIZ expert on the topic made presentation on common position document on “Cooperation for conducting international parallel performance audit”. Later, Jeyhun Shikhaliyev, head of section of the Chamber of Accounts of the Republic of Azerbaijan introduced the first results on international parallel performance audit on prevention and treatment of tuberculosis on behalf of Azerbaijan and answered the questions during  the intensive discussions.

 

By noting the importance and topicality of the theme, it was highlighted that the results of the parallel audit on prevention and treatment of the tuberculosis will be used for reforms in healthcare systems in Eastern Partnership countries with the participation of SAIs, as well as in monitoring and implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good healt and Well-being) in line with INTOSAI strategic Plan for 2017-2022.

 

The heads of delegations met with Mr. Dmitry Razumkov, the Speaker of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine as the next part of the meeting. They discussed the role and importance of the institutions responsible for external public audit as Supreme Audit Institutions of EU Eastern Partnership countries during the meeting
