The colleagues of the Chamber of Accounts attended ECOSAI seminar.
Leading consultants of Review and Analysis Department, Tamerlan Yusif-zada and State Budget Revenues Audit Department Tural Jahangirli attended Workshop on “Introduction to Ethics Audit” organized by Economic Cooperation Organization Supreme Audit Institutions (ECOSAI) in Turkey, Antalya. The workshop was attended by 28 representatives from 13 member and non-member SAIs.
The President of Turkish Court of Accounts and ECOSAI Seyit Ahmet Bash opened the workshop and gave brief information on the event.
The workshop was lead by representatives of the Turkish Court of Accounts and Helena Abreu Lopes, Chair of EUROSAI Task Force on Audit and Ethics. During the event exercises on key concepts and definitions in ethics audit, the aim of ethics audit, designing of this audit (as well as selecting audit topics, audit form, audit subject, audit criteria, data collection methods), executing the audit, reporting on audit and its requirements were assigned, practical examples on each topic were given and discussed, samples on best practice were presented.
On the last day of the workshop, the representative of the Chamber of Accounts made presentation on the topic of the workshop and gave information on mandate of the Chamber of Accounts on auditing ethics, available regulations on ethics behaviour, applicable audit criteria, and recommendations of the Chamber of Accounts on ethics issues during audits.
At the end, information on workshop results was given, participants’ opinions on the event were listened to and Certificates of Workshop on “Introduction to Ethics Audit” were presented to the participants.
