The Chamber of Accounts hosted international event
23rd ECOSAI Governing Board Meeting and 18th ECOSAI Training Committee Meeting hosted by the Chamber of Accounts of the Republic of Azerbaijan were held in Baku, on 9-10 October, 2018.
The Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Vugar Gulmammadov opening the meeting welcomed the participants and guests, highlighted the importance of events held by ECOSAI for member SAIs and gave information on the contributions made by Azerbaijan in the regional activities.
Later, the President of ECOSAI and Turkish Court of Accounts Mr. Seyit Ahmet Bash opened the meeting and made speech on the general goal and agenda of the meeting. According to the adopted agenda of the meeting Activity report by the Secretary General of ECOSAI for the year 2017-2018 and Annual Accounts of ECOSAI for the year ended 31 December 2017 were presented.
Later, information on the reports presented by the participants of 18th ECOSAI Training Committee Meeting held in the first part of the day and on the publication of the ECOSAI Circular by the SAI Pakistan was given, and meeting attendants discussed updates on the issue of ECOSAI to become a regional member of ASOSAI, Memorandum of Understandings between member states, cooperation of ECOSAI with Islamic Development Bank and other Donor organizations regarding training activities, also possibilities of joint audit and parallel audit were discussed.
Heads and members of the delegations expressed their opinions on the challenges faced during the ISSAI implementation in financial, performance and compliance audits within ECOSAI and their solution in national level. Additionally, the importance of further deepening of bilateral relations between SAIs in the region was emphasized.
The meeting was finalised with the closing address by the President of ECOSAI and Turkish Court of Accounts Mr. Seyit Ahmet Bash.
The chairman of the Chamber of Accounts Mr. Vugar Gulmammadov expressed his gratitude to the meeting participants for cooperation.
