The Kick-off Conference of EU funded Twinning Project on “Strengthening the institutional and administrative capacity of the Chamber of Accounts of the Republic of Azerbaijan”
Today the Chamber of Accounts hosted the Kick-off conference of EU funded Twinning Project on “Strengthening the institutional and administrative capacity of the Chamber of Accounts of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The goal of this project is to increase the current capacity of the Chamber to fulfill its mandate and in this way to contribute to the implementation of accountability, transparency, control and the reports in the sphere of public finance management in Azerbaijan. EU funded project started October 1 and conducted by Polish SAI with the support of experts from Croatia and Slovakia SAI and Chamber of Accounts of the Republic of Azerbaijan as BC. The project will continue 27 months till December 2019.
The Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts of the Republic of Azerbaijan Vugar Gulmammadov opened the Kick-off conference, welcomed his counterparts from Polish SAI and other organizations in Azerbaijan and informed the conference participants on the importance of the project.
The President of Polish Supreme Audit Office Mr. Krzysztof Kwiatkowski, Ambassador- Head of EU Delegation to Azerbaijan Mr. Kęstutis Jankauskas, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Azerbaijan Republic Mr. Marek Całka, Deputy of Milli Majlis Mr. Tahir Mirkishili made speech during the meeting and expressed their belief for the project being fruitful. Vice President of Polish Supreme Audit Office and MS Project Leader Mr. Wojciech Kutyła informed the conference participants on the project.
The conference was attended by project leaders of EU MS and BC SAIs, the representatives from EU Delegation to Azerbaijan and the press agencies.
