The representative of the Chamber of Accounts attended the kick-off meeting of EUROSAI Task Force on Municipality Audit launched in Vilnius
The kick-off meeting of EUROSAI Task Force on Municipality Audit (TFMA) was launched in Vilnius, Lithuania on 11-12 April 2017. The meeting was attended by 50 representatives from 25 SAIs, including the representative of the Chamber of Accounts of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
EUROSAI TFMA was launched with the initiative of Lithuanian SAI in EUROSAI Governing Board meeting held in June 2016 to coordinate the activities all over SAIs involved in municipality auditing problems. EUROSAI TFMA activity will be put forward to advance the municipality audit systems and this in itself will meliorate the audit results and give benefit to the people. The TFMA regards to improve the municipality audit practice by SAIs and hold international events and seminars on the concerned theme. After having announced the establishment of the TFMA, 26 Supreme Audit Institutions from EUROSAI member countries together with Azerbaijan SAI joined the Task Force.
The meeting approved the document on municipality audit features and the effectiveness to be expected by EUROSAI TFMA was discussed and approved and the Working Program for 2017-2019 was agreed among the TFMA members. The TFMA Working Program for 2017-2019 includes 3 strategic goals. Those strategic goals – Goal 1: ‘Exchanging the best practice and experience to reach audit results that have a substantial impact on improving public financial management’, Goal 2: ‘Making the external municipality auditing more efficient’ and Goal 3: ‘Encouraging cooperative audits’ were discussed and the final document was drafted.
