A delegation headed by Vugar Gulmammadov, the Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts of Azerbaijan Republic visited the XVI session of the Council of SAI Heads of CIA countries held in Minsk, Republic of Belarus on 7-8 June 2016.
«The role of SAIs of CIA countries in ensuring economic security: modern approach, new perspectives and opportunities, adaptation to ongoing changes» was preliminarily adopted topic of the session.
Representatives of Russian Federation, Belarus, Kirgizistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan also took part at the session. The employees of SAI of Slovakia were also invited to the session as observers.
Vugar Gulmammadov met with Leonid Anfimov, the Chairman of the State Control Committee of the Republic of Belarus during this visit. They discussed development of the existing bilateral relations, future perspectives of cooperation in the frame of the signed agreement between two organizations, as well as exchange of knowledge and experience in external audit sphere at the meeting.
Intersession activity reports of member SAIs, as well as reports of Expert Groups on Key National Indicators, Working group on preparation of financial control standard, activity of the Council were discussed at the session.
Speaking on «The role of SAIs in ensuring economic security problem» Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts Vugar Gulmammadov informed about main streams approved by the «National security conception of Azerbaijan Republic». Stressing the main risks as an SAI, he also stated that external factors influencing the decrease of the amount of the state income, adequacy of the state debt and foreign exchange reserves and imperfection of the control system over the effective use of the budget funds are also among those risks. V. Gulmammadov spoke on the role of every SAI over each risk, as well as the steps done and planned by the Chamber of Accounts in this regard.
Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts of the Republic of Azerbaijan Vugar Gulmammadov and the heads of the rest member SAIs met with the President of Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko within the frame of the XVI session.
At the end of the session, it was adopted that the next session of the Council to be held in 2017 will be chaired by the Chamber of Accounts of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
