The Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts Vugar Gulmammadov received Ms. Malena Mard, Head of Delegation, Ambassador of the European Union
On 18 January, 2016 the Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts Vugar Gulmammadov has met with the delegation of EU headed by Ms. Malena Mard, Head of Delegation, Ambassador of European Union.
During the meeting the Chairman of the Chamber Vugar Gulmammadov informed the delegation about the Chamber’s activity, also talked about the works done and the main targets. Besides, he gave information on necessity to improve the legislation with regard to the Chamber, the nature of expected changes concerning new draft law on the Chamber presented to Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the results of comparison of other SAIs on different parameters with Chamber.
The member of EU delegation, Olaf Heidelbach gave detailed information on expectations from Twinning project to be held.
Later, the exchange of views on public financial control system were made, and relevant explanations and comments were done with regard to Europe practice and current situation in the republic. Also, discussions were held on specific audit types in the Chamber as SAI, especially capacity building in performance auditing and necessity for development initiatives in budget classification based on indicators of effectiveness and efficiency in national financial management system.
As a conclusion, the Chairman of the Chamber Vugar Gulmammadov noted the sustainable development of the Chamber being carried out due to Strategic Development Plan for 2015-2017 and the vital role of information technologies implementation in the Chamber’s activity and informed on new web site of the Chamber and other activities in this regard.
At the end of the meeting the EU delegation highlighted its high appreciation for future cooperation with the Chamber of Accounts and the importance of strengthening joint efforts in this direction.
